How to Remove a Background
- Click Choose a photo and pick an image with a clearly separated subject.
- Wait a few seconds while the on-device AI model runs (progress is shown).
- Download the result as a PNG with a transparent background, or set a solid background colour first.
Privacy & how it works
This uses the open-source @imgly/background-removal library (MIT), which runs a small neural network compiled to WebAssembly inside your browser. The model weights are fetched from a CDN once, then cached. The photo you choose is processed entirely on your device and is never uploaded.
