What is this tool?
This PDF to Word converter turns a PDF into an editable Word (.docx) file with one click. It keeps the page size, paragraphs, headings, bold and italic text, and links, reads two-column pages column by column, and starts each PDF page on a new Word page. Scanned pages can be read with OCR. Click page thumbnails or type a range to pick pages, and preview or edit the text first if you like. Everything runs in your browser, and the document is never sent to a server. Images, tables and exact positions are not copied.
How to Use
- Drag and drop your PDF onto the upload area, or click to browse for it.
- Click page thumbnails to include or exclude pages, use Select all pages or Select none, or type a range such as 1-5, 8 in Pages.
- Leave the options as they are, or turn on OCR for scanned pages.
- Click Download Word (.docx). Use Preview text first if you want to check or edit the text.
- You can also download a .txt file or copy all the text.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is no text extracted from my PDF?
Your PDF is probably a scan, which is an image of text with no text layer. Tick OCR scanned pages: pages without text are then read on your device (English).
Will the Word file keep my original formatting?
Partly. The .docx keeps the page size, paragraphs, headings, bold and italic text, and links, and two-column pages are read in order. Images, tables and exact positions are not copied.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and processed in your browser with PDF.js, and nothing is sent to a server. OCR also runs in your browser.
