How to Send an API Request in the Browser
Developer · Step-by-step guide · 4 steps · 2 min read
The API client sends the call from this browser. You can save collections and environments on this device, switch to full screen, and copy the same request as cURL.
Step 1: Enter the request
Choose the method, paste the URL, and press Send.
Step 2: Add authorization and a body
Open Authorization for an API key, Bearer token, Basic, Digest, or OAuth 2.0. Open Body for form data, raw JSON, a file, or GraphQL.
Step 3: Save it
Save the request into a collection. Turn on an environment and use {{name}} anywhere in the URL, headers, or body.
Step 4: Use it on a phone
Press Full screen. The sidebar tucks away, and the request and response stack.
Tips and questions
Why did the browser block the request?
By default the call goes straight from this page to the API. If that API does not allow this site (CORS), the browser stops it. Tick Cloud proxy in the top bar to send it through Wivrix on Cloudflare instead, or copy the cURL command from the Code tab and run it on your computer.
Are tokens uploaded?
Not unless you turn on Cloud proxy. Without it, the URL, tokens, and files stay in this browser. With it, each request passes through the Wivrix Cloudflare Worker on its way to the API and is not stored.
Privacy
Collections, environments, and history stay in this browser. With Cloud proxy off, Wivrix does not receive your requests. With it on, each request passes through the Wivrix Cloudflare Worker and is not stored or logged.
